You don't know how to use them. Or, you just have no idea what they actually do.

Honestly there's no way you could believe things like health, shield, and ammo regeneration as well as increased mobility or shielding aren't full of defensive value unless you have no idea how to play the game. You really should take some time to read the abilities and their upgrades.

Yeah, and they exist for every class, and thus are not benefiting the Hawk's case exclusively.

Hmm. Has any of you tried to play it with a gamepad? Mouse is obviously superior, but how would it handle?

Reason I'm asking this is that I'm currently down with IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome - horrible, annoying, but won't kill me - ...yay) and don't want to play Persona 3 while I'm sick, I can't think about all the checking weaknesses and elemental damage, tactics and so on.

Oh, yeah, but you can cast Bloodhawk, then run to the enemies and BH will attack them. If you max the -recharge skill, you can use it to kill 7-9 enemies per 15 seconds, or less if you have the skill in your class mod.

Also, about the bug - you can have more than 5 or 10 Bloodhawks at the same time, if you do it right. So if you get a Bloodhawk out, and recharge it before he kills everyone (hehe), you can get two Hawks at the same time.

Oh, and not to mention that Bloodhawk is not only ranged, can attack enemies 10 or 25 meters away from each other, maybe more, and it can fly up ledges and kill enemies standing on high ground.

Exploits should never be considered when determining the value of a skill and its functions, unless they have been around so long that the chance of them ever being patched is very low and it is therefore safe to include such abuse in calculations. As for your gamepad question, the game is a port from consoles, so playing it with a pad would work fine.

Oh, of course bugs shouldn't count. But one thing we can learn from the no-recharge bug, is that it's possible to have 2 or more Hawks. So if you send one, it lasts some time, and if you recharge the skill before the previous one returns, you can use him over and over.

Still, Ranged > Melee damage. Especially since Lilith is a girl, and I'm a swine.

Faer, I've read some of the abilities and see what you are saying, however I won't be able to comment any further on them until I get farther along in the game. My characters are in the 13-16 range so far.

I recommend playing this game with at least one other player. Although single player is fun, it gets boring fast. Buffing each other with team enhancements in multiplayer really is helpful.

Just finished the game on the first playthrough, and although the end is a bit of a letdown, I enjoyed the game very much. Just started on the second playthrough with a friend, and have to say it's a bit more challenging, although still far too easy to my taste.

Still, phasewalking into a group of baddies, melting faces and melee-ing Bruisers to death while emptying my SMG's and corrorive revolvers, while a friend puts down his scorpion and makes headshot after headshot sure is satisfying.

And afterwards opening chests and picking up weapons, accompanied by 'that's awesome' makes it a unique lootfest when finding that megadamage gun you've been waiting for.

Don't forget you can reset your skills for a minimal fee, been switching around from time to time to accommodate a different playstyle.

I have to agree that the game is too easy for the most part, even with multiple players. I'm hoping that the DLC will give a great challenge.

IMO they really should have put in a third playthrough that is repeatable. I know that after you beat it the second time all enemies are rescaled, I just wish you could restart the whole story and do it again as a 50.

I think it's cool that a game can have so many interesting ideas literally ripped from other games and toss them together and have it come out as something unique. I was getting tired of Halo this and Call of Duty that :X

It's pretty much a direct port, so no.

However...

My was the one on the right when I ran into a bandit's car while trying to shoot it up. We all had to end up getting out and killing each other the old fashioned way.

well, my Borderlands-ing has had to take a hiatus while I wait for my new rig to get built. Here are the components:

Sony Optiarc 24X DVD/CD Rewritable Drive Black SATA

SAMSUNG TOC T260HD Rose Black 25.5" 5ms HDMI Widescreen HDTV Monitor - Retail
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It should look pretty slick after that. As should GTA4, which I've played about 3 hours in the year I've had it on my old GW-playing puter. I'll get L4D2. Can't wait for it all to happen. I've received the monitor/hdtv -- 25.5" is epically huge for a monitor.
Hope that HD isn't one of the "lol imma die on you now bro" models. Seagate had some serious issues with their 1TB drives for a while.
Really? I bought a 500GB Seagate 7200 few months ago (during the summer, I think I still have the package) and it's been working very nicely.
Black, you might want to add a RAM Cooler (pick what suits you, I like the OCZ cooler myself)
-for some reason, no matter what...crucial memory runs hot enough to burn the balls off the devil. OC'd or not. stock volts, or not.
I picked up a ASUS vw266h about 2/3 weeks ago. nice monitor...no drivers. lol. I hate having to look in device manager and see 'Generic PnP'
-asus dropped the ball on that one.
The DLC is out and from all the noise my friend is making it's fantastic. It's also not one of those DLCs that you play for literally an hour and then immediately regret paying 800 points for an hour of entertainment. *cough* Force Unleashed DLC *cough*
My friend has been playing it nearly nonstop since release and he says there's no hint to an end as of yet. I guess they weren't lying when they said it should provide around another ten hours. 800 points for ten hours seems pretty reasonable to me.
